The Ministry of Education and Culture of Mozambique, together with the African Union’s Pan-African Institute of Education for Development (AU-IPED), is hosting the National Policy Dialogue on Knowledge and Innovation Exchange (KIX) from 3 to 7 August 2026 at Hotel Afrin in Maputo.

Convened through the GPE KIX Africa Hub 19 - a joint initiative of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) and Canada’s International Development Research Centre (IDRC), the dialogue will bring together around 50 participants, including government representatives, researchers, higher education institutions, development partners, and members of the Local Education Group.

The dialogue aims to strengthen knowledge sharing, innovation, and collaboration across Mozambique's education sector, and to support evidence-based public policy. Discussions will focus on four priority themes: the professional development of teachers; equity, gender equality, and inclusion; early childhood education; and the strengthening of education data systems.

The programme combines field visits to schools and district education services with thematic sessions, group work, and plenary debates. Insights gathered on the ground will feed directly into policy discussions, culminating in a shared Action Plan to guide future collaboration under KIX.

This gathering reflects Mozambique's continued commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 4 and the Continental Education Strategy for Africa (CESA 2026-2035), and to building an education system grounded in evidence, equity, and innovation.
